Quickly Book Online Appointment for AIIMS OPD with Aadhar Card

Your Aadhar card bestows several powers and benefits, and one of them is medical benefits. If you have Aadhar card number, you can book online for outpatient department(OPD) visit in AIIMS. The decision was taken to reduce waiting period and make the process hassle-free.

The booking system has been active since 04th July 2015.

All you need to do is enter the UID Aadhar card number and the personal details will be traced automatically. On the basis of this, the Unique Health Identification Number (UHID) will be allotted by the AIIMS department. You need not have an OPD card too.

One can book appointment with AIIMS using below simple steps:

Process to book appointment for existing patients having UHID:

  • Click on “Existing ing patients with UHID” button.
  • Enter your UHID(Unique Health Identification number written on your OPD Card), Next Enter the character shown on left side. Next Click Proceed.
  • Further Select Hospital, Mobile Number(registered Mobile number, which was given by you during OPD card registration).
  • Click on Next button.
  • Now, click on “Fix Appointment” link to book an appointment.
  • Click on “Click for Followup Appointment” button to book the appointment.


Process to book appointment for new patients:
  • Visit AIIMS patient portal.
  • Click on “New patients without UHID” button.
  • Enter your Aadhar number or If you do not have Aadhar card number then click on the link “Don’t have aadhar?Click here” to enter your mobile number instead of Aadhar card.
  • Click on Submit button to receive OTP on your mobile.
  • Enter OTP received on your mobile and click on Proceed button.
  • Confirm your details like- Name, Gender, DOB, Father’s Name, Address, City, State ,Pincode, Security code and click on Proceed button.
  • Select State, Hospital and Department where you need to book an appointment and click on “Proceed” button.
  • Select the available appointment date and click on “Proceed”.
  • Now confirm the appointment details and click on “Book Appointment” button to confirm the booking and to make payment.
  • You can take the print out after the payment and you can carry the same print out on appointment day.
  • It is noted that patient should bring necessary documents indicating referrals without which appointment shall stand cancelled.

Since the implementation of the new system, there has been a 50% improvement in response. As on 22nd Feb 2016, 1.49 lac patients have benefitted by this facility. For the follow-up, the patient just needs to show the Aadhar card number or the registered mobile number.

Bookings can be made across all available OPD’s. The allotted UHID will be maintained by the hospital for complete patient records. In other words, if the patient revisits the hospital even after a certain number of years have passed, the hospital can trace the medical records electronically through the UHID or the Aadhar card number.
