UIDAI, the Central Government agency that issues aadhar cards to the citizens of the country, was set up as an attached office under the aegis of the Planning Commission on 28 January 2009. At present there are 383 officers and subordinate staff with the UIDAI. The UIDAI has a comprehensive grievance redressal mechanism for resolution of the queries and grievances of residents. A Contact Centre called “Aadhaar Sampark Kendra” has been set up by UIDAI as a central point of contact for such purposes.
Aadhaar Sampark Kendra maintains a seamless framework for handling queries and grievances and for effective resolution of issues encountered during pre and post-enrolment stages of Aadhar.
Presently, Voice support i.e. Interactive Voice Recognition System (IVRS) and agent, is available in 12 languages and Email support is available in English only.
UIDAI has the following channels of communication through which residents can raise their concerns:
The residents can dial Toll free number “1947” and follow Interactive Voice Recognition System (IVRS) instructions to get answers to his/her queries.
Residents can send their queries via email to the mentioned id and get it addressed.
