Aadhar Card News – DCB Takes Major Step Forward in Increasing Aadhar Benefits
DCB (Development Credit Bank), which is a private sector bank, has launched a unique ATM, sounds unusual? Believe us, it is true.
The fact that makes this ATM unique is that unlike normal ATMs where in you have to swipe your ATM Card and enter the PIN number, this particular ATM will accept your Aadhar number and fingerprints for authenticating your account, as reported by the Press Trust of India. Intrigued? We were too!
If you are a DCB customer you will no longer have to worry about carrying your ATM Card wherever you go, just take your Aadhar along with you and you can get cash, anytime, anywhere using your Aadhar.
Another benefit of this technique is the additional security, ATM Card and pin can be stolen but nobody can match your fingerprints. Hence, along with being easy, it is a more secure method of transaction as well!
Limited Only to DCB Customers
DCB also reported that it will be extending this Aadhar facility to all of the ATM’s owned by the bank, which are 400 in total. The time taken to complete this project s estimated to be six months. However, one must note that this service is available only for the customers of DCB, if you have an account in any other bank, you will have to use the same method of ATM card and PIN code.
The bank also said that the linking between Aadhar cards and bank accounts have recently picked up pace after the Aadhar Bill was passed in the parliament. These linking’s had earlier faced a drop in August 2015 when the Aadhar was made optional by the Supreme Court except for public distraction systems and LPG Subsidies. There were various state governments and other central bodies such as RBI, TRAI and SEBI who returned to the Supreme Court, saying that the Aadhar had become a major barricade for people to enroll in other schemes of social benefit.
