The RBI has also issued a directive where Aadhar card can be used for Know Your Customer (KYC) formalities.

However, many wonder how to enroll for the card as there are areas that do not have the enrolment center. Even when enrolment is completed, it is important to check the Aadhar card status. If the Aadhar card is approved, it can be downloaded from the net or collected from the enrolment center. Here is how one can check the Aadhar card status.

The card seeker must key in the data. The security code field is also essential. The security code or the unique number for checking the Aadhar card is provided.

If however, users cannot view the number properly, they can click ‘try another’ link. Clicking this link will reset the existing number and another number will be displayed. Once all the fields are complete, the users must click ‘Check Status’ to view the status of the Aadhar card.

The enrolment ID is a 14-digit number printed in the acknowledgement receipt or Resident Copy. The 14-digit date and time are also mentioned. The 28 digits form the temporary enrolment ID (EID). The acknowledgement ID is provided during the Aadhar card registration. The ID number must be produced each time one needs to know the status of the Aadhar card. The EID shows that the enrolment has been successfully completed and the resident or the Aadhar card applicant need not enroll afresh.
