Get Aadhar Card Correction Offline – Here is How?

Aadhar number is a unique 12 digit number for every resident who applies to get Aadhar number.

You can update the data given below in the aadhar card if it is incorrect and get aadhar corrected either by giving your update request online or by sending request through post.
  • Name

Process to get Aadhar Card Correction through post

  • Download the form to get aadhar correction offline by clicking here.
  • Completely fill in the aadhar data update form and sign at the bottom.
  • Depending on which information you want to be updated, attach all the self-signed required documents as given in the Valid Documents List attached.
  • Check the information entered for correctness in English and in the local language. UIDAI will not make any corrections to the data given in your request.
  • Mention your aadhar number on all the copies of documents submitted.
  • Send the filled form with all the required documents to one of the addresses given.

  • Mark the envelope to be sent as “aadhar update/correction” on the envelope top and seal it properly.
  • You will receive an intimation of the update request receipt when it is received.

How to fill or update Aadhar Form to get Aadhar Card Correction

  • Fill the form in English as well as in the local language which was used during the time of your enrolment in aadhar.
  • Select all the fields that you want to be updated /corrected. You can also select more than one field. But you will have to fill the entire form irrespective of which field is to be updated/corrected.
  • Fill the current details in the form only and no old details.
  • Write your full name without any salutations/titles.
  • Write your complete and full address. The Aadhar letter with your updates will be delivered only at the given address.
  • To include your Guardian/ Parent/Spouse ‘s name as part of the address, select the correct box in C/O details and enter the name of the person in the given field. It is not compulsory to provide C/O details with the address.
  • You are needed to fill the full address and submit supporting documents for the same.
  • Provide your correct mobile number. You must be available at this given mobile number for any necessary clarifications. The status of the update application will be sent to you by an SMS on this given mobile number.
  • Check that the details written are accurate and complete in English as well as the local language.
  • You have to self attest or self sign the required documents. Your name must be clearly mentioned below your signature / thumbprint when you are self attesting the documents.
  • You do not have to submit all the documents. You only have to submit those documents which are required for the change/ update/ correction.
  • Send the application and all the supporting documents to UIDAI addresses given. Select the appropriate UIDAI office address for sending the application depending on the local language that you have used in your application.

The aadhar letter with updates will be sent to your address when the update/ correction in name, address, date of birth and gender are processed.

For update of your mobile number, the notification for the update will be sent to the given mobile number.
