Complete List of Documents Required for Aadhar Card Application

UIDAI accepts several documents as Proof of Identity or Proof of Address for Aadhar Card enrollment. Applicant needs to carry the documents in original to the enrollment centre where it shall be scanned and uploaded online for verification.

Complete list of Documents Required for Aadhar Card application

One needs to submit atleast one of the Proof of Identity and Proof of Address as documents required for Aadhar Card application. However in the case where the same document is accepted both as PoA and PoI, only one document needs to be submitted. For minors who are registering using documents of their parents, a copy of Proof of Relation (PoR) also needs to be furnished. List of accepted documents as Proof of Identity which should contain name and photograph of the applicant(PoI)
  • Passport
  • PAN Card
  • Ration/ PDS Photo Card
  • Voter ID Card
  • Driving License
  • NREGS Job Card
  • Photo Bank ATM Card
  • Photo ID issued by Recognized Educational Institution
  • Government Photo ID Cards/ service photo identity card issued by PSU
  • Arms License
  • Photo Credit Card
  • Pensioner Photo Card
  • Kissan Photo Passbook
  • CGHS / ECHS Photo Card
  • Freedom Fighter Photo Card
  • Address Card having Name and Photo issued by Department of Posts
  • Certificate of Identity having photo issued by Gazetted Officer or Tehsildar on letterhead 18. Disability ID Card/handicapped medical certificate issued by the respective State/UT  Governments/Administrations.

  • Insurance Policy
  • Signed Letter having Photo from Bank on letterhead
  • Signed Letter having Photo issued by registered Company on letterhead
  • Signed Letter having Photo issued by Recognized Educational Instruction on letterhead 17. NREGS Job Card
  • Arms License
  • Pensioner Card
  • Kissan Passbook
  • Freedom Fighter Card

  • Income Tax Assessment Order
  • Certificate of Address having photo issued by MP or MLA or Gazetted Officer or Tehsildar on letterhead
  • Certificate of Address issued by Village Panchayat head or its equivalent authority (for rural areas)
  • Address Card having Photo issued by Department of Posts
  • Vehicle Registration Certificate
  • Registered Sale / Lease / Rent Agreement
  • Gas Connection Bill (not older than 3 months)
  • Caste and Domicile Certificate having Photo issued by State Govt.
  • Disability ID Card/handicapped medical certificate issued by the respective State/UT Governments/Administrations
  • Passport of Spouse
  • Passport of Parents (in case of Minor) 

List of supported Proof Of Relationship (PoR) Documents containing Relationship details to Head of Family:
  • PDS Card
  • MNREGA Job Card
  • CGHS/State Government/ECHS/ESIC Medical card
  • Pension Card
  • Valid Passport
  • Army Canteen Card
  • Birth Certificate issued by Registrar of Birth, Municipal Corporation and other notified local government bodies like Taluk, Tehsil etc.

  • Birth Certificate
  • SSLC Book/Certificate
  • Passport
  • Certificate of Date of Birth issued by Group A Gazetted Officer on letterhead

I am Unable to access Aadhaar Online Services / Website from outside India. Please suggest?

UIDAI's official website i.e. www.uidai.gov.in doesn't have any such restriction and should be accessible from anywhere. However, some of the UIDAI web based features like Resident Portal, eAadhaar, Self Service Update Portal (SSUP), Aadhaar Linking Status etc are Geo-Based policy enabled and therefore, will not be accessible from outside India.
