The Parihara programme was launched by the Chief Minister of Karnataka which is a programme of Direct Benefit Transfer, a unique initiative which aims that the subsidies provided by the government reached the targeted crop loss-stricken farmers with utmost transparency.

The technology of the Parihara programme has been developed by the Bhoomi monitoring cell and the revenue department.

How does the Parihara Programme work?

The Government has collected from the farmers the important information such as the Aadhar numbers and their Aadhar seeded bank accounts details.

The Bhoomi database was then be used by the revenue and agriculture department to verify the claims made by the farmers and to ascertain if the kind of land they have declared is owned by them.

This step has been put in place in order to ensure that there is no misuse of the subsidies, no fraudulent elements hinder the process and a just distribution is undertaken through which the money reaches the people who most deserve it.
