Aadhar Card Update – Check Aadhar Card Update Status in 3 Steps

Applying for a change in the Aadhar details like Name, Date Of Birth, Mobile Number could be easily done online on the UIDAI’s Self Service Update Portal. However, the online Aadhar Card Update Status is crucial to track the process.

Aadhar Card Update – Check Aadhar Card Update Status in 3 Steps

This is however only valid for those who have a valid mobile number/e-mail id registered and linked to their Aadhar Card. Only then you could receive a One-Time Pin (necessary to access the SSUP). Nevertheless, if you do not have a registered mobile number, you can go for the Offline Aadhar Card update.

If you have already initiated a request for Aadhar Card update through SSUP, your work is far from over. As you know, the requested Aadhar Card detail update does not occur immediately after you filing the online application, it rather depends upon the review of your application by the Registration Officials. You need to, therefore, keep a check on Aadhar Card update status. See how it’s done, here, only on AadharCardKendra.org.in

Aadhar Card Update Status – How to Check?

We have covered quite a few articles on ‘How to Update your Aadhar Card Details‘. The request for such an update of details is exclusively done on the Self Service Update Portal. After the request application has been successfully filled for Aadhar Card update, an ‘Update Request Number’ is generated. You need to carefully note this URN because, this would then be required while checking the Aadhar Card update status.

3 Steps to Check Aadhar Card Update Status

Here are 3 simple steps to check the Aadhar Card Update Status. With these steps, it will not even take more than 5 Minutes to get your Update Status in front of you.

Step 1:  Visit the Aadhar or UIDAI Self-Help Portal:

To check this status, you would again need to head to the Self Service Update Portal. The following link would be useful: https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/check-status

Step 2: Enter Aadhar or UID number and URN:

Upon reaching this link, you would notice that the page asks you to enter 2 fields in case you want to check the Aadhar Card update status. These two details are:
  • Aadhar Number
  • URN – This is a number you would have received while you had applied for the Aadhar Card Update or Changes. So keep that number handy.

Step 3: Get your Aadhar Card Update Status:

Just enter these two details and click on ‘Get Status‘. You would then be shown the status of your Aadhar card update application.

That’s it. A Simple 3 Step procedure to get your Aadhar Card Update Status enquiry.

For What All Details Can You Check Aadhar Card Update Status?

The Online Aadhar Card Update through SSUP allows you to update only the following details:
  • Address
  • D.O.B
  • Mobile Number
  • Name
Hence, a URN would only be generated when you apply for updating the above-mentioned Aadhar Card details. Hence, Aadhar Card update status can be checked for these details only. Not that you can not update any other detail, it is just that the Online Aadhar Card update is only valid for the given list of details. If you wish to update any other Aadhar Card detail(s) then, you can apply for it offline, by filling out the following form (can be downloaded directly from our website).

You can fill the print-out of the downloaded PDF Form and send it by post or fill it directly at the Aadhar Update Centre. If you fill it at the Centre itself, it would be better because, then you would have an opportunity to clear your doubts about the Aadhar Card update application process. If you send it by post, you would need to send the supporting documents as well. The list of accepted documents could be found in the downloadable form given above.
